Back2School Supplies Drive

Help Kids in Need to Succeed

For many Douglas County families, purchasing school supplies for their children can be a financial challenges because the costs necessary for items are beyond their means. With your support we can ensure that all Douglas County students are ready to success on the first day of school.

Last year, 1,241 new backpacks were filled with a set of school supplies to students in grades K-12. Students also can pick out a new pair of shoes provided by our partnering businesses.

Starting July 21st individuals, agencies and businesses have an opportunity to donate and volunteer to help fill the backpacks with grade level supplies. Volunteers can choose (1-2) hour block of time between 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM at any of our collection sites on the following dates:

  • Saturday, July 21
  • Sunday, July 22
  • Saturday, July 28
  • Sunday, July 29

A Sort-a-Thon and Backpack Assembly volunteers are needed to fill backpacks with supplies at the East Heights Elementary School Gymnasium located 1430 Haskell Avenue, Lawrence, Kansas 66044 on:
