Day of Action

United Way Day of Action is an invitation for people and organizations around the world to LIVE UNITED and take action to address a variety of challenges. It is a day that promotes the spirit and value of volunteerism and demonstrates the power of Living United.

Shoebox Project 2018

Every day times most of us take for granted, like toothbrushes, soap, or a comb can make a big difference for someone living in poverty or experiencing homelessness. Believe it or not, some of the most important essentials people need can fit right inside of a shoebox! That’s why the United Way of Douglas County is asking individuals, families, and organizations from around the region to bring us decorated shoeboxes filled with personal care and basic need items.

Finished shoeboxes will be distributed to The Willow, Family Promise, The Community Shelter, and The Children’s Shelter. Join our efforts to help those in need in our community!

Collection of shoeboxes will take place June 1- June 20. Redistribution will take place on June 21.

It’s easy to participate! Just follow the three simple steps outlined below.
